My Mass-Media

My favorite medium or mass media is my tablet. I spend with it more or less 1 hour per day. I use it for entertainment and to fill the boredom. I usually use it instead of the television because this way I can watch my favourite programs (like Pretty Little Liars or The Vampire Diaries) any time, without waiting to the hour they play it in the television.
I usually use this medium when I´m already in bed before I fall asleep. Therefore I use it alone without any social interaction.
If this medium didn´t exist my routine would be obiously different because instead of using it to obtain the information needed for homework I would use a computer and instead of seeing my programs with it I would see them in the television. The first successful tablet was the iPad from apple who showed it in 2010 and it was an exit. All the people want it because it was more easily transported than a computer for the work .

The others media I normally use are radio, television, books, newspapers, mobile phone and cinema.

  •  Radio:  I hear to it when I’m going to school with my mom and my sister in the car 15 minutes per day.
  •  Television: I watch it all days during dinner with my family like half an hour.
  •  Books: I read when I’m already in bed alone, usually love stories.
  •  Newspapers: I don’t read the newspapers I just do the crosswords with my grandfather on Fridays.
  • Mobile phone: I use it, more or less, 2 hours per day normally alone but to talk with more people.
  • Cinema: I go to the cinema with my family or with my friends twice per month.

Icon, Symbol and Logo

I'm Maria González Magdalena from 3rd A and I chose a crab for my drawing because I think a crab is a strong acuatic animal, althought it's size is not so big. In fact, I like this animal because it represents my zodiac symbol, so that would be one of the reasons why I chose this animal.

.
SARA LUNA

Although this song isn't in english I have already done the comic so I'm uploading the video with the lyrics and my work.

As you can see I changed some words from the lyrics but I tryed to express more or less the same idea.

Icon, symbol and logo by Claudia Iglesias (3rd A)

The icon and symbol want to express freedom, as a bird flying free and happy in the nature, and I chose the theme park because it's a place for children to be free and have fun.

ACTIVITY 1.1
I chose this logo because I think it is very beautiful, I chose this symbol because I think  it is symbolic and I draw this abstract composition because in my opinion is very fun.

Candela Suárez Álvarez 1ºD.

Icon, symbol and logo.

I'm Lucía Del Riego Nozal, from 3A.
I chose the cat sybol for this activity. By one hand, the cat represents a homely, domestic, gentle and sweet animal, that protects our homes, but by the other hand, the cat represents a very independent, powerful, free and cunning animal, that cheats and steals away. So we can translate the meaning of the cat sybol in many different ways, because it has a very complex behavior.

Perfect Two

Perfect Two

AUBURN

You can be the peanut butter to my jelly
You can be the butterflies I feel in my belly
You can be the captain and I can be your first mate
You can be the chills that I feel on our first date
You can be the hero and I can be your side kick
You can be the tear that I cry if we ever split
You can be the rain from the cloud when it's stormin'
Or you can be the sun when it shines in the mornin'
Don't know if I could ever be
Without you cause boy you complete me
And in time I know that we'll both see
That we're all we need
Cause you're the apple to my pie
You're the straw to my berry
You're the smoke to my high
And you're the one I wanna marry
Cause your the one for me for me (for me)
And I'm the one for you for you (for you)
You take the both of us of us (of us)
And we're the perfect two
We're the perfect two
We're the perfect two
Baby me and you
We're the perfect two
You can be the prince and I can be your princess
You can be the sweet tooth I can be the dentist
You can be the shoes and I can be the laces
You can be the heart that I spill on the pages
You can be the vodka and I can be the chaser
You can be the pencil and I can be the paper
You can be as cold as the winter weather
But I don't care as long as we're together
Don't know if I could ever be
Without you cause boy you complete me
And in time I know that we'll both see
That we're all we need
Cause you're the apple to my pie
You're the straw to my berry
You're the smoke to my high
And you're the one I wanna marry
Cause your the one for me for me (for me)
And I'm the one for you for you (for you)
You take the both of us of us (of us)
And we're the perfect two
We're the perfect two
We're the perfect two
Baby me and you
We're the perfect two
You know that I'll never doubt ya
And you know that I think about ya
And you know I can't live without ya
I love the way that you smile
And maybe in just a while
I can see me walk down the aisle
Cause you're the apple to my pie
You're the straw to my berry
You're the smoke to my high
And you're the one I wanna marry
Cause your the one for me for me (for me)
And I'm the one for you for you (for you)
You take the both of us of us (of us)
And we're the perfect two
We're the perfect two
We're the perfect two
Baby me and you
We're the perfect two

Green Day-Boulevard Of Broken Dreams

                                                                  "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams"

I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me and I walk alone

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk a...

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone

Ah-ah, ah-ah, ah-ah, aaah-ah,
Ah-ah, ah-ah, ah-ah

I'm walking down the line
That divides me somewhere in my mind
On the border line
Of the edge and where I walk alone

Read between the lines
What's fucked up and everything's alright
Check my vital signs
To know I'm still alive and I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk a...

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone

Ah-ah, ah-ah, ah-ah, aaah-ah
Ah-ah, ah-ah

I walk alone
I walk a...

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk a...

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone...

Logos,Symbols and icons

For my project, I  choosed this because I really like music. This logo is based on the Stradivarius line . In the icon I drew a simple treble clef. In the symbol there is a treble clef and a treble of the bass together forming a sort of heart in black and white. The icon is the logo of Stradivarius but with the name "Shirts" in bright different colors.

ICON, SYMBOL AND LOGO

I did this exercise about an icon, a symbol and a logo trying to represent the same idea. First I thought that everybody is influenced by the people and the things that are around them. Because of this my icon is a fish. In my symbol, the fish is transforming into a bubble and in  my logo it has already transformed into an orange bubble (a logo for the Aquario de Gijón). I have chosen the fish and the water because they are always together.

Activity 1.1

I like this painting because there are very expresive. The first simbol is from hockey team, the second one is from India and the last is from china called Jing-jang.

Symbol, Icon And Logo

The exercise we had to make this week was called: Create Three Pictograms. The thing is that we had to draw an icon, a symbol and a logo about the same idea. To draw the icon we had to draw the animal or the object exactly as it is. Then to make the symbol we had to draw that idea but more abstract. And finally we had to design a logo including the idea using our imagination and that was the best part.
Here is my work:

Graphic designers

What do you think about Graphic Design like your future studies?
Graphic designer is an artist who uses her/his creativity to solve problems around texts and images, e.g. in newspapers, books, advertising  etc. A graphic designer has to draw but to design typography too, so artist has to be able to illustrate with letters and drawings in harmony, and, nowadays,to have a certificated proficency in graphic design software programs
In Asturias, you can study this kind of degree in Oviedo

Ester Roi

Today I would like to speak about an exceptional artist, a woman with a powerful taste for colours who changes our perception of  the meaning of word “stone”. Yes, stones and much more than this .Rainbows on the water, hearts under rivers and seas. If you think that to paint stones can be boring you´re absolutely wrong. Ester Roi obtains a wide variety of tones  from the hue colours of her palette mixing pigments in order to achieve masterpieces of Art.
At last, pictures are amazing and delicious.

Week camp 2014

BETTER OUT THAN IN

There are many forms of artistic expression and not all of them are in museums. These days, TV news are telling us Bansky´s  adventures in the streets of New York. This artist, because it is a powerfully  graphic artist, is currently expressing their ideas on the walls of the North American city. There is irony, complaint, disappointment and a touch of stark reality in the creations concept.
No experts can consider that as vandalism where in fact, we find graffiti as a way of expression, Art in capital letters anyway. Unfortunately, a huge amount of his works have been erased by local authorities but a world of fans have given in unconditionally to his talent.
Fame and mystery are around street artist just the same. If you like to learn more, check the next links:

Playing with poems

"The Poetry of Buildings: Using the names of buildings to teach language and culture as well as raising awareness of students' linguistic landscapes.

http://www.tmenglish.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=206%3Athe-poetry-of-buldings&catid=12&Itemid=134"

Thinking about images related to poems, looking for buildings that can remind you feelings...it´s a beautiful way to learn English and to "dive" into Art and Architecture as well.

Can you imagine a landscape illustrating a song or a poem? Look for the next examples. Which is your favourite?

Soul Mate

© Jacob Pagan
Inquisitive I view, the couples everywhere;
Peaceful and glee, as both lives are shared.
When will it be my turn, I start to ponder;
Deeper into thought I begin to wander.

Burning like wildfire, love will always spread;
The greatest of feelings, at least that’s what I've read.
Giving everything I’ve got, I willingly dare;
So why am I empty, with no one to care?

As time trickles by, and my faith depletes;
I have to stand strong, resist conceding defeat.
I’ve heard of ‘the soul mate’, the one, the only;
Although hope is restored, I am still so lonely.

You’re what I pray, before bed and meal;
That promised emotion, you’ll grant me to feel.
Night after night, I know you are out there;
A bond like ours is most certainly rare.

As doubt as my enemy, I know I can beat;
Until the day we are destined to meet.
Eternally loyal, eternally true;
My tears will freeze, before I stop waiting for you.

CXV: Spring     Alfred Lord Tennyson

Now fades the last long streak of snow,
Now burgeons every maze of quick
About the flowering squares, and thick
By ashen roots the violets blow.

Now rings the woodland loud and long,
The distance takes a lovelier hue,
And drowned in yonder living blue
The lark becomes a sightless song.

Now dance the lights on lawn and lea,
The flocks are whiter down the vale,
And milkier every milky sail,
On winding stream or distant sea;

Where now the seamew pipes, or dives
In yonder greening gleam, and fly
The happy birds, that change their sky
To build and brood, that live their lives

From land to land; and in my breast
Spring wakens too: and my regret
Become an April violet,
And buds and blossoms like the rest.

Dylan Thomas (1914-53)
Poem in October
It was my thirtieth year to heaven
Woke to my hearing from harbour and neighbour wood
And the mussel pooled and the heron
Priested shore
The morning beckon
With water praying and call of seagull and rook
And the knock of sailing boats on the net webbed wall
Myself to set foot
That second In the still sleeping town and set forth.

My birthday began with the water-
Birds and the birds of the winged trees flying my name
Above the farms and the white horses
And I rose
In rainy autumn
And walked abroad in a shower of all my days.
High tide and the heron dived when I took the road
Over the border
And the gates
Of the town closed as the town awoke.

A springful of larks in a rolling
Cloud and the roadside bushes brimming with whistling
Blackbirds and the sun of October
Summery
On the hill's shoulder,
Here were fond climates and sweet singers suddenly
Come in the morning where I wandered and listened
To the rain wringing
Wind blow cold
In the wood faraway under me.

Pale rain over the dwindling harbour
And over the sea wet church the size of a snail
With its horns through mist and the castle
Brown as owls
But all the gardens
Of spring and summer were blooming in the tall tales
Beyond the border and under the lark full cloud.
There could I marvel
My birthday
Away but the weather turned around.

It turned away from the blithe country
And down the other air and the blue altered sky
Streamed again a wonder of summer
With apples
Pears and red currants
And I saw in the turning so clearly a child's
Forgotten mornings when he walked with his mother
Through the parables
Of sun light
And the legends of the green chapels

And the twice told fields of infancy
That his tears burned my cheeks and his heart moved in mine.
These were the woods the river and sea
Where a boy
In the listening
Summertime of the dead whispered the truth of his joy
To the trees and the stones and the fish in the tide.
And the mystery
Sang alive
Still in the water and singingbirds.

And there could I marvel my birthday
Away but the weather turned around. And the true
Joy of the long dead child sang burning
In the sun.
It was my thirtieth
Year to heaven stood there then in the summer noon
Though the town below lay leaved with October blood.
O may my heart's truth
Still be sung
On this high hill in a year's turning.

Bob Dylan Ballad Of A Thin Man            Lyrics

You walk into the room
With your pencil in your hand
You see somebody naked
And you say, "Who is that man ?"
You try so hard
But you don't understand
Just what you'll say
When you get home.

Because something is happening here
But you don't know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones ?

You raise up your head
And you ask, "Is this where it is ?"
And somebody points to you and says
"It's his"
And you says, "What's mine ?"
And somebody else says, "Where what is ?"
And you say, "Oh my God
Am I here all alone ?"

But something is happening here
But you don't know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones ?

You hand in your ticket
And you go watch the geek
Who immediately walks up to you
When he hears you speak
And says, "How does it feel
To be such a freak ?"
And you say, "Impossible"
As he hands you a bone.

And something is happening here
But you don't know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones ?

You have many contacts
Among the lumberjacks
To get you facts
When someone attacks your imagination
But nobody has any respect
Anyway they already expect you
To all give a check
To tax-deductible charity organizations.
You've been with the professors
And they've all liked your looks
With great lawyers you have
Discussed lepers and crooks
You've been through all of
F. Scott Fitzgerald's books
You're very well read
It's well known.

But something is happening here
And you don't know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones ?

Well, the sword swallower, he comes up to you
And then he kneels
He crosses himself
And then he clicks his high heels
And without further notice
He asks you how it feels
And he says, "Here is your throat back
Thanks for the loan".

And you know something is happening
But you don't know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones ?

Now you see this one-eyed midget
Shouting the word "NOW"
And you say, "For what reason ?"
And he says, "How ?"
And you say, "What does this mean ?"
And he screams back, "You're a cow
Give me some milk
Or else go home".

Because something is happening
But you don't know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones ?

Well, you walk into the room
Like a camel and then you frown
You put your eyes in your pocket
And your nose on the ground
There ought to be a law
Against you comin' around
You should be made
To wear earphones.

Does something is happening
And you don't know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones ?                               from
