THE MONA LISA - JAVIER GURPEGUI 3°ESO A

The face of Lisa is rounded and her nose is small.
She has dwarf eyebrows, a very tiny mouth and her smile is also non-existent.
You can see her hands are interlaced, because Leonardo prefered that action instead of using a ring. This represents Lisa as a virtuous woman and faithful wife.

This is the portrait that I choosed, it is from Joan Miró.
Miró drew this abstract portrait inspired by Picasso.
As you can see, he has very strange factions, he has enormous ejes and strange- shaped eyebrows.
He has lots of wrinkles, so you can guess that it is an old man, but, it is a bit  confusing because of his black hair and huge head.
His ears are ver  strange and abstract, well, the paint in general remains you the abstract movement of portraits.

Description of a portrait

This portrait was drawn by Velázquez.
It's unknown who the man is, but he also appears on other pictures made by Velázquez.
The man has a huge fronthead. His eyebrows are tiny compared to his forehead.
He has small eyes and a big nose. He also has a curly moustache and a very small chin.

Diego Velázquez finished this portrait in 1624, while he was working for the king, Felipe IV.
In the portrait we can see the oval king´s face made-up, with sad and expresive eyes, a white skin and a brown and wavy hairstyle. He wore his armor with a red cloth in his shoulder.

Self-portrait, PABLO PICASSO

Pablo Picasso in this portrait  appears with a really bad look, standing out his face. The shadow of the hat covers the entire forehead. He has very small and narrow eyes and a big nose. This portrait for me mostly shows sadness because he’s with lots of wrinkles and a few scars. He’s wearing a dark coat and the image is all in black and white.

LA GIOCONDA

La Gioconda is probably the most famous paint of Leonardo da Vinci. It was paainted using a method called sfumato. The paint is currently at the Louvre museum. In the portrait appears a woman sitting in an armchair. She doesn´t have eyebrows and eyelashes. It was originally painted with eyelashes and with better visible eyebrows, but that these had gradually disappeared over time, perhaps as a result of overcleaning. Some scientists think that the woman was pregnant because of the position of her arms. The landscape of the left is different of the lanscape of the right. However both landscapes are the town of Bobbio.

SELF-PORTRAIT OF LEONARDO DA VINCI BY ELENA ARIAS

This self-portrait is one of the best known drawings by Italian painter. It was painted around 1513 and is located in the Royal Library of Turin. Leonardo performed all his drawings, including sketches, attention to detail. If you look closely at the picture, he realizes every hair, every hair of the beard, is made with great precision, although the face is not finished; indeed missing the top of the front and back of the beard but gives the impression of being. This drawing has a truly amazing behind history: Leonardo's death, he fell into the hands of Francesco Melzi his faithful collaborator who had inherited all manuscripts and drawings, and the death of the latter, the entire collection was dispersed among the children of Melzi and this portrait was assigned, sold, etc., and was not heard from again. It reappeared in the early nineteenth century in Milan. In the picture you can see that here Leonardo was old because of the wrinkles that have eyes, dark circles together. We also appreciated having a sad and serious expression, which is what Leonardo wants to express.
