I'm Lucía Del Riego Nozal, from 3A.
I chose the cat sybol for this activity. By one hand, the cat represents a homely, domestic, gentle and sweet animal, that protects our homes, but by the other hand, the cat represents a very independent, powerful, free and cunning animal, that cheats and steals away. So we can translate the meaning of the cat sybol in many different ways, because it has a very complex behavior.
You can be the peanut butter to my jelly
You can be the butterflies I feel in my belly
You can be the captain and I can be your first mate
You can be the chills that I feel on our first date
You can be the hero and I can be your side kick
You can be the tear that I cry if we ever split
You can be the rain from the cloud when it's stormin'
Or you can be the sun when it shines in the mornin'
Don't know if I could ever be
Without you cause boy you complete me
And in time I know that we'll both see
That we're all we need
Cause you're the apple to my pie
You're the straw to my berry
You're the smoke to my high
And you're the one I wanna marry
Cause your the one for me for me (for me)
And I'm the one for you for you (for you)
You take the both of us of us (of us)
And we're the perfect two
We're the perfect two
We're the perfect two
Baby me and you
We're the perfect two
You can be the prince and I can be your princess
You can be the sweet tooth I can be the dentist
You can be the shoes and I can be the laces
You can be the heart that I spill on the pages
You can be the vodka and I can be the chaser
You can be the pencil and I can be the paper
You can be as cold as the winter weather
But I don't care as long as we're together
Don't know if I could ever be
Without you cause boy you complete me
And in time I know that we'll both see
That we're all we need
Cause you're the apple to my pie
You're the straw to my berry
You're the smoke to my high
And you're the one I wanna marry
Cause your the one for me for me (for me)
And I'm the one for you for you (for you)
You take the both of us of us (of us)
And we're the perfect two
We're the perfect two
We're the perfect two
Baby me and you
We're the perfect two
You know that I'll never doubt ya
And you know that I think about ya
And you know I can't live without ya
I love the way that you smile
And maybe in just a while
I can see me walk down the aisle
Cause you're the apple to my pie
You're the straw to my berry
You're the smoke to my high
And you're the one I wanna marry
Cause your the one for me for me (for me)
And I'm the one for you for you (for you)
You take the both of us of us (of us)
And we're the perfect two
We're the perfect two
We're the perfect two
Baby me and you
We're the perfect two
I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me and I walk alone
I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk a...
My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone
Ah-ah, ah-ah, ah-ah, aaah-ah,
Ah-ah, ah-ah, ah-ah
I'm walking down the line
That divides me somewhere in my mind
On the border line
Of the edge and where I walk alone
Read between the lines
What's fucked up and everything's alright
Check my vital signs
To know I'm still alive and I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk a...
My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone
Ah-ah, ah-ah, ah-ah, aaah-ah
Ah-ah, ah-ah
I walk alone
I walk a...
I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk a...
My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone...
For my project, I choosed this because I really like music. This logo is based on the Stradivarius line . In the icon I drew a simple treble clef. In the symbol there is a treble clef and a treble of the bass together forming a sort of heart in black and white. The icon is the logo of Stradivarius but with the name "Shirts" in bright different colors.
Hello, I'm Mateo Cifuentes, from bilingual group 3rd A and C. I've used the fox in my drawing because it represents the cunning and intelligence, and I chose the antivirus due to it's something that needs a sort of intelligence to work propperly.
I have drawn this icon, symbol and logo to represent a food brand.
The first is the icon and It is very simple. The second it represents love with the form of a hard also it's abstract without much colours.
And the last one I drew the hen's feet with a drawing of it, that means this hen is the best and the food will be fantastic.
I draw the lion of oxford becouse is a very beutiful symbol and very expresive becouse I think oxford chose this symbol becouse the lion is a very strong animal.
The secon symbol is a religius symbol it is very beutiful and expresive and the last draw, have diferents symbols that I invent but some of thems I copy from a book.
I did this exercise about an icon, a symbol and a logo trying to represent the same idea. First I thought that everybody is influenced by the people and the things that are around them. Because of this my icon is a fish. In my symbol, the fish is transforming into a bubble and in my logo it has already transformed into an orange bubble (a logo for the Aquario de Gijón). I have chosen the fish and the water because they are always together.
I like this painting because there are very expresive. The first simbol is from hockey team, the second one is from India and the last is from china called Jing-jang.
I´m Carlota Rodríguez Rubio of 1B and this is my drawing.
I have chosen the Hello Kitty logo becouse I like cats. Also I draw the egyptian symbol becouse is so pretty. And I make the abstract composition with hearts becouse Is easy to draw.
The exercise we had to make this week was called: Create Three Pictograms. The thing is that we had to draw an icon, a symbol and a logo about the same idea. To draw the icon we had to draw the animal or the object exactly as it is. Then to make the symbol we had to draw that idea but more abstract. And finally we had to design a logo including the idea using our imagination and that was the best part.
Here is my work:
Today I would like to speak about
an exceptional artist, a woman with a powerful taste for colours who changes
our perception of the meaning of word “stone”.
Yes, stones and much more than this .Rainbows on the water, hearts under rivers
and seas. If you think that to paint stones can be boring you´re absolutely
wrong. Ester Roi obtains a wide variety of tones from the hue colours of her palette mixing
pigments in order to achieve masterpieces of Art.
I´m uploading several drawings about flowers and fairies on this post ´cause all of them form part of a serial collection for my wedding invitations. It´s not completed but I would like to show it next days. I´ve taken inspiration from my fiancé´s potos, from images on the Net and extracted some ideas and characters from a very famous British artist´s beautiful book :How to Draw and Paint Fairyland,Linda Ravenscroft
There are many forms of artistic expression and not all of them are in museums. These days, TV news are telling us Bansky´s adventures in the streets of New York. This artist, because it is a powerfully graphic artist, is currently expressing their ideas on the walls of the North American city. There is irony, complaint, disappointment and a touch of stark reality in the creations concept.
No experts can consider that as vandalism where in fact, we find graffiti as a way of expression, Art in capital letters anyway. Unfortunately, a huge amount of his works have been erased by local authorities but a world of fans have given in unconditionally to his talent.
Fame and mystery are around street artist just the same. If you like to learn more, check the next links: http://www.banksy.co.uk/ http://mexico.cnn.com/entretenimiento/2013/10/04/banksy-reta-a-los-neoyorquinos-a-encontrar-sus-obras-en-la-ciudad http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banksy
"The Poetry of Buildings: Using the names of buildings to teach language and culture as well as raising awareness of students' linguistic landscapes. http://www.tmenglish.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=206%3Athe-poetry-of-buldings&catid=12&Itemid=134" Thinking about images related to poems, looking for buildings that can remind you feelings...it´s a beautiful way to learn English and to "dive" into Art and Architecture as well. Can you imagine a landscape illustrating a song or a poem? Look for the next examples. Which is your favourite?
Inquisitive I view, the couples everywhere; Peaceful and glee, as both lives are shared. When will it be my turn, I start to ponder; Deeper into thought I begin to wander.
Burning like wildfire, love will always spread; The greatest of feelings, at least that’s what I've read. Giving everything I’ve got, I willingly dare; So why am I empty, with no one to care?
As time trickles by, and my faith depletes; I have to stand strong, resist conceding defeat. I’ve heard of ‘the soul mate’, the one, the only; Although hope is restored, I am still so lonely.
You’re what I pray, before bed and meal; That promised emotion, you’ll grant me to feel. Night after night, I know you are out there; A bond like ours is most certainly rare.
As doubt as my enemy, I know I can beat; Until the day we are destined to meet. Eternally loyal, eternally true; My tears will freeze, before I stop waiting for you.
Now fades the last long streak of snow, Now burgeons every maze of quick About the flowering squares, and thick By ashen roots the violets blow.
Now rings the woodland loud and long, The distance takes a lovelier hue, And drowned in yonder living blue The lark becomes a sightless song.
Now dance the lights on lawn and lea, The flocks are whiter down the vale, And milkier every milky sail, On winding stream or distant sea;
Where now the seamew pipes, or dives In yonder greening gleam, and fly The happy birds, that change their sky To build and brood, that live their lives
From land to land; and in my breast Spring wakens too: and my regret Become an April violet, And buds and blossoms like the rest.
Dylan Thomas (1914-53) Poem in October It was my thirtieth year to heaven Woke to my hearing from harbour and neighbour wood And the mussel pooled and the heron Priested shore The morning beckon With water praying and call of seagull and rook And the knock of sailing boats on the net webbed wall Myself to set foot That second In the still sleeping town and set forth.
My birthday began with the water- Birds and the birds of the winged trees flying my name Above the farms and the white horses And I rose In rainy autumn And walked abroad in a shower of all my days. High tide and the heron dived when I took the road Over the border And the gates Of the town closed as the town awoke.
A springful of larks in a rolling Cloud and the roadside bushes brimming with whistling Blackbirds and the sun of October Summery On the hill's shoulder, Here were fond climates and sweet singers suddenly Come in the morning where I wandered and listened To the rain wringing Wind blow cold In the wood faraway under me.
Pale rain over the dwindling harbour And over the sea wet church the size of a snail With its horns through mist and the castle Brown as owls But all the gardens Of spring and summer were blooming in the tall tales Beyond the border and under the lark full cloud. There could I marvel My birthday Away but the weather turned around.
It turned away from the blithe country And down the other air and the blue altered sky Streamed again a wonder of summer With apples Pears and red currants And I saw in the turning so clearly a child's Forgotten mornings when he walked with his mother Through the parables Of sun light And the legends of the green chapels
And the twice told fields of infancy That his tears burned my cheeks and his heart moved in mine. These were the woods the river and sea Where a boy In the listening Summertime of the dead whispered the truth of his joy To the trees and the stones and the fish in the tide. And the mystery Sang alive Still in the water and singingbirds.
And there could I marvel my birthday Away but the weather turned around. And the true Joy of the long dead child sang burning In the sun. It was my thirtieth Year to heaven stood there then in the summer noon Though the town below lay leaved with October blood. O may my heart's truth Still be sung On this high hill in a year's turning. from http://www.homeoint.org/morrell/poems/
Bob Dylan Ballad Of A Thin Man Lyrics
You walk into the room With your pencil in your hand You see somebody naked And you say, "Who is that man ?" You try so hard But you don't understand Just what you'll say When you get home.
Because something is happening here But you don't know what it is Do you, Mister Jones ?
You raise up your head And you ask, "Is this where it is ?" And somebody points to you and says "It's his" And you says, "What's mine ?" And somebody else says, "Where what is ?" And you say, "Oh my God Am I here all alone ?"
But something is happening here But you don't know what it is Do you, Mister Jones ?
You hand in your ticket And you go watch the geek Who immediately walks up to you When he hears you speak And says, "How does it feel To be such a freak ?" And you say, "Impossible" As he hands you a bone.
And something is happening here But you don't know what it is Do you, Mister Jones ?
You have many contacts Among the lumberjacks To get you facts When someone attacks your imagination But nobody has any respect Anyway they already expect you To all give a check To tax-deductible charity organizations. You've been with the professors And they've all liked your looks With great lawyers you have Discussed lepers and crooks You've been through all of F. Scott Fitzgerald's books You're very well read It's well known.
But something is happening here And you don't know what it is Do you, Mister Jones ?
Well, the sword swallower, he comes up to you And then he kneels He crosses himself And then he clicks his high heels And without further notice He asks you how it feels And he says, "Here is your throat back Thanks for the loan".
And you know something is happening But you don't know what it is Do you, Mister Jones ?
Now you see this one-eyed midget Shouting the word "NOW" And you say, "For what reason ?" And he says, "How ?" And you say, "What does this mean ?" And he screams back, "You're a cow Give me some milk Or else go home".
Because something is happening But you don't know what it is Do you, Mister Jones ?
Well, you walk into the room Like a camel and then you frown You put your eyes in your pocket And your nose on the ground There ought to be a law Against you comin' around You should be made To wear earphones.
Was I never yet of your love greved,
Nor never shall while that my liff doeth last ;
But of hating myself that date is past,
And teeres continuell sore have me weried.
I will not yet in my grave be buried ;
Nor on my tombe, your name yfixed fast,
As cruell cause that did the sperit son haste
Ffrom thunhappy bonys, by great sighes sterred.
Then if an hert of amourous faith and will
May content you, withoute doyng greiff,
Please it you so to this to doo releiff
Yf, othr wise, ye seke for to fulfill
Your disdain : ye erre : and shall not as ye wene ;
And you yourself the cause thereof hath bene. Was I never yet of your love grieved,
Nor never shall while that my life doth last;
But of hating myself, that date is past,
And tears continual sore have me wearied.
I will not yet in my grave be buried ;
Nor on my tomb, your name yfixed fast,
As cruel cause that did the spirit soon haste
From th'unhappy bones, by great sighs stirred.
Then if an heart of amorous faith and will
May content you, without doing grief,
Please it you so to this to do relief
If, otherwise, ye seek for to fulfil
Your disdain: ye err, and shall not as ye ween,
And you yourself the cause thereof hath been. http://www.shakespeares-sonnets.com/wyatt.php?section=11
Reading about golden number and the singularity of certain shapes in nature, I found a lot of articles about a Maths´concept: the fractals. I´m sure that your teacher would explain you better than me what´s about these beautiful structures. But I´ll try to define it: a fractal is a pattern inside the structure of some objects and shapes so, it displays a self-similarity on all scales.
That term that represents a graphic and mathematical model was suggested by Benoit Maldelbrot in 1973, (for learn more http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benoit_Mandelbrot) who used computers to create geometric shapes from chaos to order.
The concept are close up related to Golden ratio. For instance, the proportions of different plant components (numbers of leaves to branches, diameters of geometrical figures inside flowers) are often claimed to show the golden ratio proportion in several species but in some of these "magic" repetitions it´s possible to find fractal models.
"Romanesco broccoli, or Roman cauliflower, is an edible flower of the species Brassica oleracea, and a variant form of cauliflower. First documented in Italy, it is light green in color and is a natural approximation of a fractal." (from WIKIPEDIA)
My students, you are going to learn a lot about Gestalt Laws along next weeks. What is Gestalt Psychology? Click here-
Well, in fact, in the case of fractals you can see that the formation of a continous pattern is based on the law of SIMILARITY.
" law of similarity - a Gestalt principle of organization holding that (other things being equal) parts of a stimulus field that are similar to each other tend to be perceived as belonging together as a unit" (from http://www.thefreedictionary.com/law+of+similarity)
Searching in the Net, it is easy to find " fractal Generators", computer application by means of it, you will create a huge amount of marvellous fractals, e.g. http://www.easyfractalgenerator.com/
