HERE IS THE REMBRANDT´S SELF-PORTRAIT I´M WORKING ON:
1st) It´s the original image (that I´ve looked for in google images) about Rembrandt´s self-portrait.
2nd) It´s the engraving I´ve done in a linocut.
3rd) It´s the final result that I´ve obtained when I printed the engraving with ink.
In
this
painting
we´re looking at an old man.
All starts when Rembrandt thought he was
dealing with a gorgeous, smart and handsome
guy, himself . But when he started getting old
his perfect look changed so he decided to also
paint the ugliness, realism.
We now can analyze it in this picture with the
following features:
-The
original paiting shows the darkness and
only focus his faces with a light streak.
-The
elderly
man
has several wrinkles because
of his age.
-Due
to
his
depression,
his
eyes,
eyebrows
and eyelids express sadness.
-His
hair
is
yellowish
and
it´s
worn-out.
-He
also
has huge ears but a thin, tiny and
clearly defined mouth.
-His cheecks are large as his chin, but he has no beard.
• The most obvious aspect of Rembrandt’s late
style is that the brushwork is, in general,
broader. Individual brushstrokes
sometimes remain visible, although the differentiation in the
brushwork is
extraordinary. Rembrandt is also known as a painter of light
and shade, and of
course as an artist whos technique, REALISM, would lead some critics to claim that he
used
to prefer ugliness to beauty.
I´ve looked for the information on the internet in different web pages.
